Star Wars 2012: Let The Games Begin!

Controversy mars first Star Wars Whiffle Ball Series.  "What was C3PO thinking?", screamed Tony Signore when the robot failed to run out a single that would have tied the game.  More details later.  Anyway, time to get fired up for some new Star Wars 2012.  Grab your cod pieces and turn on your internets....

OK Star Wars, The Winner is RADIOHEAD!

Hey guys.  Tony Signore has won his third straight Star Wars!  Bob Seger played very close with Radiohead in the first half, but the second half proved to be Bob's famous final scene as Radiohead dominated and took home the beautiful Darth Vader Trophy.

Bob Seger: "I can win this thing......"

http://www.mlive.com/music/index.ssf/2011/04/kid_rock_joins_bob_seger_in_gr.html

Yes, Bob Seger, the infidel, part of Ewing's Operation Pants Down offensive has blasted him into the finals.  Seger is jetting down between concerts to Memphis to lay down tracks for his new album.  Ewing will own that album.  Tony will buy it for Mark.  Tune in Monday night and watch it.

The Final Two: 8-Bob Seger Vs 3-Radiohead!

I was at Vinnies Bar on Saturday night.  It was hard for me to see the tiny TV at the bar, and I kept asking this one guy, Thomas what the score was.  I knew Seger had won.  But the Radiohead Vs Jeff Healey game, I was never sure about....then I found oot that Radiohead had made it.  Too bad for Jeff Healey, I guess I will not be receiving "Cover to Cover".  I will look forward to Tony buying me the new Bob Seger CD that comes out  later in the fall.  How appropriate the Seger was actually in town, in concert at the Van Andel while the game was going on....Yeah, Bob Seger....

Radiohead victims:  14-Jackson Browne, 6-My Morning Jacket, 2-Nick Lowe, 5-Lucinda Williams, 4-Jeff Healey.

Bob Seger victims:  9-Bob Dylan, 1-Keith Richards, 4-The Beatles, 2-John Hiatt, 11-Nora Jones.

Season ends for Nora Jones, Jeff Healey.
My hat goes off to Nora Jones for going 12-1 the last 2 years.  She was a play-in 11-seed and she beat  6-AC/DC, huge upset of 3-George Jones, knocked off the Lalonde upset-minded 10-Radioactive Chickenheads, shocking upset of 1-Gregg Allman...but fell just short to Bob Seger.

Jeff Healey: Came in as a pretty strong 4-seed.  He was the very first person Mark ever got points for in Death Pool, and Mark gave homage to Jeff by seeding him very high.  Healey did not disappoint.  He crusted Emmylou Harris.  He beat down a very talented 5-The Decemberists.  Healey was supposed to bow down to the overall number one seeded The Rolling Stones, but it was Healey who came out as a victor.  2-Waylan Jennings was next, and Jennings was favored by a large margin. Healey again came away as the winner.  Radiohead was next for the blind Canadian.

Ewing knew the game was going to be tough.

"Think of  a retarded person performing brain surgery with nothing but a pair of pliers.  That is how hard this game was.  Jeff Healey was blown away.  You know, Jeff Healey is blind.  He played totally blind and it really showed tonight.  He is overweight.  Good God.  How could he win playing against 5 younger men that can see?  I can't believe he won a single game actually.  But this Dead Blind Canadian is still a winner in my book."
